Marathon Media Brings Magic to the Small Screen with a Unique Music-Based Digital Strategy

Zodiak Kids is proud to announce the launch of Marathon Media’s brand new production LOLIROCK (52 x 26’), an exciting new animated series featuring magic, mystery and music, developed in partnership with France Televisions and Disney Channel (France).

Aimed at 6-12 year olds, LOLIROCK follows the journey of young Iris, a spirited teenage girl with a beautiful voice and an unending desire to help others. When Iris joins the girl band LOLIROCK, her life is changed forever, as a new world of music, mystery and magical powers is revealed. Three new friends are now bound together by their common destiny as magical princesses and their battle for justice. Marathon Media (Totally Spies!) has once again created a cast of characters that are aspirational role models for a generation of children for whom justice has become a core value. With experienced, world renowned talent and proven producers, LOLIROCK is sure to connect with every girl’s magical inner self!

The music in LOLIROCK, overseen by acclaimed producer Yellow Shark, will feature heavily in the series and provide a key element to Marathon Media’s exciting 360-degree digital strategy and multi-screen approach.  As part of a unique marketing plan, five animated LOLIROCK videos will be launched on social media & YouTube before the debut of the TV show. Additionally, local LOLIROCK bands will be formed in each key territory, creating a hugely important secondary platform for the series, and endless opportunities to connect with its core audience.

Produced at Marathon Media’s Paris studios with director Jean Louis Vandestoc, the series boasts world-renowned creative talent including head writer Madellaine Paxson, known for her work on Lilo & Stitch, Tarzan, and Kim Possible, among others. The TV broadcast launch is planned for early 2014 on France Televisions and then on Disney Channel. All TV rights will be managed by Zodiak Kids while licensing will be handled by Zodiak Kids CP Paris.
